Dear Friends: Thank you for your interest in the Madison County Young Republicans (MCYR). The MCYR was formed to give young persons an opportunity to get more involved in the political process, to learn about and debate political issues, and to take a more active role in promoting issues and the Republican party in Tennessee, regardless of who holds office. As a member, you will have the opportunity to attend monthly meetings where you will meet others from a variety of different backgrounds but with similar beliefs - to discuss the issues that matter. And you will get to hear some of the most prominent and interesting speakers from the state and region. General meetings are held quaterly at locations across Jackson, from a local restaurant or bar to the home of one of our own members. The MCYR also organizes some special events, including holiday parties, recruitment parties, and fundraising and community events. Members and non-members alike are encouraged to attend all meetings, and you should feel free to visit the Events page for more information. The MCYR is open to any person aged 18-40, and I hope you will strongly consider becoming a member. Even if you're older than 40, you are welcome at all of our meetings. College students are especially encouraged to attend, and college students can join the MCYR for a discounted rate. Please feel free to send an e-mail if you are interested in joining or if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting. Sincerely, Ed Wallis Chairman, Madison County Young Republicans |
