Young Republicans To Hold Gathering In Honor of State Representative Chris Crider
JACKSON, Tenn. – June 22, 2005 - The Madison County Young Republicans (MCYR) will host a gathering in honor of State Representative Chris Crider on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 6:30PM at the home of Kevin & Cassie Scott in Jackson, Tennessee. The general public, including those interested in joining the Madison County Young Republicans, are welcome at the MCYR’s 2005 summer meeting.
Crider represents Tennessee’s District 79, serving part of Gibson and Carroll counties. A member of the 103rd and 104th General Assemblies, Crider is a member of the House Agriculture Committee, the House Health & Human Resources Committee, and the House Mental Health Subcommittee. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1997, and received the 2004 University of Tennessee Agricultural Museum President's Award.

Young Republicans Host Meet and Greet With U.S. Senate Candidate Bob Corker
JACKSON, Tenn. – June 22, 2005 - The Madison County Young Republicans (MCYR) will host a meet and greet with U.S. Senate Candidate Bob Corker on Tuesday, June 28 at 11:00 AM at Davis-Kidd Booksellers, located at 869 North Parkway in Jackson, Tennessee. The general public and all Young Republican members are invited to attend this short session with Corker.
Elected as the Mayor of Chattanooga in 2001, Corker announced he is seeking the Republican nomination to run for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by current Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist. Corker resigned as Mayor of Chattanooga in the spring to concentrate his efforts on the upcoming Senate race.
“The Young Republicans are honored that Mr. Corker has requested the opportunity to meet with Young Republicans and other West Tennesseans as he stops in Jackson,” Chairman Ed Wallis says. “I invite the entire public to take this opportunity to meet Mr. Corker and learn more about getting involved with the Young Republicans in Madison County.”
The MCYR is a political group established to promote the growth and acceptance of the Republican Party and all of its candidates by offering volunteer opportunities for individuals 18 to 40 years old in Madison County area. The MCYR meet quarterly and will hold their next regularly scheduled meeting on July 21, 2005, as the group will host a reception honoring State Representative Chris Crider.

Madison County Young Republicans Announce March monthly meeting
JACKSON, Tenn. – Mar. 1, 2005 - The Madison County Young Republicans (MCYR) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, March 10 at Corky’s restaurant, located on Stonebridge Blvd. in Jackson, at 6:00 p.m. This month, the MCYR will continue their series entitled “Learning More About the Republican Party.” Kevin Scott, MCYR’s Vice-Chairman, will present a short program entitled “The First Republican In the White House” detailing the events that occurred during Abraham Lincoln’s presidency.
All persons interested in learning more about the Republican party and the Lincoln presidency are encouraged to attend this month’s meeting. The MCYR will also be discussing the Madison County Lincoln Day dinner, which will occur on Friday, April 22, 2005. Representative Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) will be the event’s guest speaker.

February meeting set for Madison County Young Republicans
JACKSON, Tenn. – Feb. 7, 2005 - The Madison County Young Republicans (MCYR) will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, February 17 at Corky’s restaurant, located on Stonebridge Blvd. in Jackson, at 6:00 p.m. This month, the MCYR will begin a series entitled “Learning More About the Republican Party.” Chairman Ed Wallis will present the group with a history of the Republican Party detailing the origin of the phrase “GOP,” the origin of the party’s mascot and the basic principles upon which the party was founded.
MCYR’s New Member Drive continues throughout the month of February, and the organization is looking to add as many new members as possible in the coming months. Members of the MCYR will have the opportunity to get involved on a grassroots level within the Republican Party and to participate in philanthropic events in Madison County.

Madison County Young Republicans Meeting Set for January 20
JACKSON, Tenn. - Jan. 6, 2004 - The Madison County Young Republicans will hold their monthly meeting Thursday, January 20 at Corky's restaurant at 6:00 p.m. Instead of hosting a guest speaker, the Young Republicans will spend their January meeting discussing their annual goals and planning for the upcoming year.
January also marks the start of the Young Republican's New Member Drive, which will conclude at the end of May 2005. All members of the public aged 18 to 40 who have an interest in the Republican Party or who want to learn more about the Republican Party are invited and encouraged to attend this month's meeting.
"As we move into a new year, the Madison County Young Republicans are looking for new members to help us promote the growth and acceptance of the Republican Party in Madison County," Chairman Ed Wallis says.
